Trondheim kommunes Ung Innovasjonspris

Ung innovasjonspris skal synliggjøre dyktige ung kvinner, som står bak nyskapende idéer, produkter eller tjenester. Det legges spesielt vekt på kvinner som jobber innen teknologi og realfag, men forskere og gründere fra hele Norge og alle fagdisipliner kan søke selv eller nomineres. Premien er på kr 100 000 og deles ut 28. mars på Trondheim Tech Port Conference av ordføreren i Trondheim, Rita Ottervik.

Om prisen

Ung Innovasjonspris er en nasjonal konkurranse rettet mot kvinner som jobber med kommersialisering av innovasjon, særlig innen teknologi og realfag. Hensikten med prisen er å løfte fram kvinner som lykkes, og bidra til å gjøre innovasjonene deres enda mer synlig. Trondheim kommune ønsker å gi oppmerksomhet til kvinner som inspirerer andre.

Kriterier for å nominere noen til prisen

• Produktet/prosjektet sin tilknytning til teknologi og realfag skal vektlegges, men ikke være en forutsetning
• Prisvinner(e) skal være yngre enn 40 år
• Produktet/prosjektet må ha kommersiell interesse
• Produktet/prosjektet må inneholde minst ett element av innovasjon
• Produktet/prosjektet kan ha godkjent patent dersom det skal kunne markedsføres
• Innleverte bidrag bør inneholde en grundig beskrivelse av produktet/prosjektet og idéhaver.

Ved årets prisutdeling vil klima og bærekraft tillegges vekt.

Intro

Though female participation has always been a part of the scientific process, the global knowledge community continues to work tirelessly to educate, include, promote and create visibility for female innovation and leadership. Trondheim, as significant knowledge hub in the Nordic region and the Tech Capital of Norway, is championing this advancement.

Trondheim Municipality is proud to further female advancements and recognise female excellence through their 100,000 NOK award, Young Innovator Prize; a prize aimed to shed light on the achievements of living role models - women who are innovating and commercialising knowledge for a better world. The prize, along with media training, will be presented at Technoport conference, on March 27th 2019. The prize will be awarded by the Mayor of Trondheim, Rita Ottervik.

The aim of Young Innovators Prize is to create an arena for showcasing female innovation and entrepreneurship in Norway and bring forward the talents and ideas of women that are not always easily recognised in the workplace or market. Talented women from across Norway can apply for this one-time stipend, to further their training or education, help commercialise their idea, or help establish and grow their company. A special consideration will be given to women working with natural sciences and technology. However, Trondheim Municipality encourages female researchers and entrepreneurs from all backgrounds to nominate themselves, or on behalf of other valuable candidates.

About the prize

The Young Innovators Award among Norway’s only national competition for females working with the commercialisation of innovation, and entrepreneurship. This award recognises the significance of female innovation in the process of going to market, no matter how modest you feel your contribution has been. Trondheim Municipality and partners aim to create awareness for the activities of women successfully innovating and commercialising their ideas, while providing inspiration for future generations. Application criteria

• Products/ Projects connected to technology and natural sciences will receive special consideration, however are not exclusive.
• Candidates should be under the age of 40 prior to the awards ceremony
• Products/ projects must have a commercial interest or global potential
• Products/ Projects must have an element of original innovation
• Products/ Projects under patenting, or in the process of patenting must be in a position to be marketed, or communicated
• Submissions require a description of the idea/ product/ project and the inventor/ candidates contribution
